Going into the Mortgage Industry
I was attracted to the profession because of a desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives by helping them achieve the dream of homeownership. It is important work to help individuals and families grow financial security through homeownership. It is a large and important investment. Playing a key role in creating a brighter financial future for your clients makes you memorable.
Most Rewarding Professional Accomplishment
Being persistent and consistent is this business for almost two decades has been rewarding. I am proud to have been of service to 2837 families so far with whom I keep in contact. Much of my business is referral and repeat clients.
I enjoy conducting an annual mortgage review to ensure that my client’s loan is meeting their financial goals, and recommend changes as necessary. I also ask if they know of anyone looking to buy, sell, invest, or refinance real estate. This allows me to refer qualified clients back to my Realtor partners.
I am also proud to have many professional and personal friends within the Real Estate industry.
Business Philosophy
I do business with concern, candor, competence, communication, commitment and customer centered. My goal is to help my clients make smart choices when selecting a loan program, regardless whether it is a purchase or refinance transaction. My overall goal is to integrate their mortgage into their long and short-term investment strategies and their payment and equity objectives.
When I first came into the business, I thought I was selling home loans. I’m not, I’m selling financial dreams. I talk about how the home loan will help the customers achieve their lifestyle goals. We talk retirement planning, cash flow, future financial needs (cars, vacations, education, etc.) and tax advantages.
Marketing Strategy
Through the years, community involvement became my marketing strategy – without even realizing it. I have always felt that you need to support the community you live and work in by giving back some of what you have reaped over the years because your success comes from the community. We need to be aware of what is happening in our communities by becoming involved and informed, whether through the Chamber of Commerce, churches or local service organizations. I am a founding Director of “Real Estate Professionals Foundation” a 501c3 non-profit organization.
Mike enjoys his involvement with the Citrus Valley Association of Realtors. He was recognized as “Affiliate of the Year - 2008″. He is the co-founder of the “Virtual Home Marketing Tour and Caravan”. He is also the website designer of www.HomesByOpenHouse.com
